ABOUT THE COURSE
B.Sc. Biotechnology is a three year professional course of graduation which is affiliated by M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. JMB Institute is one of the pioneer institutes to provide B.Sc. Biotechnology course in the territory. Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary course & various programs, syllabus have been developed to meet the growing demand for trained manpower for any meaningful activity in the country. The syllabus is designed to expose the students to recent exciting developments in the era of genetic engineering and biotechnology and their use in industry, agriculture and medicine.
An intensive course in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Recombinant DNA Technology, Immunology, Protein and Enzyme Technology, Microbiology, Plant Tissue Culture is provided as per the university Syllabus to Biotechnology students. Further as a part of a project training of 6-8 weeks at another industry in Biotechnology. The students with the kind of background are well equipped for employment in agriculture, Health Care & Medicine, Pharma Companies and other industries as well as research & development organizations.

Besides effective teaching methodologies such as Lectures, guest lectures, seminars, workshops, etc we organize various Educational/Industrial visits of our students as visits of Biotechnology Park, Lucknow, G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, IVRI, Bareilly etc for academic development of the students.
Students with Science stream in 10+2 level of school can opt undergraduate course in Biotechnology. The Post graduate course courses such as M.Sc (Biotech) & M.Tech (Biotechnology) can also be done. Post graduate degree can be obtained in Similar Branches of Science as Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, Microbiology. Students can also opt Ph.D. courses after post graduation in biotechnology & similar branches.
Biotechnology is such a vast discipline and hence its scope is immense. The students of Biotechnology can pursue careers in a wide range of areas. They can gain employment in pharmaceutical companies, health care, crop production, and more. They can also find employment in companies tackling energy or environment issues. ELIGIBILITY
10+2 Science with Biology. Aggregate 45% marks (40% for SC and ST).
ADMISSION PROCESS
Direct admission will be done at the college based on Personal Interview and merit of the student at 10+2 level or as per the guidelines set by the MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.
