ABOUT THE COURSE

The arts department at J.M.B. Institute is well established with best curriculum and excellent faculty. The B.A. Home Science degree programme offers a broad perspective of all the disciplines of Home Science which are foods and nutrition, clothing, resource management, human and child development and Extension education.

Home Science creates awareness regarding ourselves and our surroundings. The department stresses on individual attention to the students along with practical exposure.

The curriculum includes all the elements of knowledge required for better understanding and professional expertise.

WHY HOME SCIENCE

A Home Science graduate receives multidisciplinary knowledge which provides them with wide scope regarding profession. They may pursue master’s degree in Home Science along with specializations to enter into the academic field. They may teach Home Science at school /college level after qualifying NET/SET/TET, B.Ed. or B.T.C.

The graduates may join projects or programmes under government or non-government organizations aimed at community development, women empowerment etc. They can establish themselves as designers, merchandisers and decorators.
