ABOUT THE COURSE
After establishing a foothold at the bachelor’s level, the Home science department at J.M.B. Institute has initiated a Master of Science degree in home science with specializations in three areas general, foods and nutrition and clothing.
The post graduate course is designed with a multi disciplinary approach and inculcation of practical knowledge providing a professional expertise of the subject to the students.
M.Sc Home Science (General)
Under this course during the first year of the degree programme the curriculum of the students aims at all the branches of home science. Students are provided with vocational and professional knowledge of a specific branch in the second year of their degree programme.
M.Sc Home Science (Foods and Nutrition)
This course aims at different fields of foods ad nutrition including biochemistry, human nutrition and dietetics. The professional study is supplemented with research ethics and statistics.
M.Sc Home Science (Clothing)
his professional course includes clothing and textiles apparel designing, garment construction and fiber science. The post graduates are provided with deep knowledge of research methods and biostatistics.
Why this course
A post graduate degree in home science opens doors for eminence research opportunities as a junior or senior research fellow (JRF/SRF) in reputed organizations such as DFRL, ICAR, ICMR, IIT etc. The students may pursue a career in the field of dietetics as a dietitian/nutritionist or a fashion professional UGC-NET or other state level eligibility. Examinations at college/school level. They may also go for a doctoral degree in their area of specialization.

ADMISSION PROCESS
Direct admission will be done at college based on personal interview and merit of the student in B.Sc Home Science as per the guidelines set by the MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.
